George Duroy loves making references with his names. He used to be obsessed with classical music, so they named everyone Bartok, Dvorak, etc. Now I guess they’re on to painting. It’s an interesting approach, but I wonder how many people are reflecting on the meaning of the name when jacking off.

Oops, you know what, I just realized I think I got George Duroy mixed up with William Higgins, but they both did that sort of thing. Wikipedia points out that Georges Duroy is the name of a character in a work by Guy de Maupassant called Bel Ami. So they both like to make use of the higher arts in porn.

Very good to know, thanks for the info. I have wondered for the longest time. I do know the literary Bel Ami (I think at one point Robert Pattinson was supposed to star in an adaptation even).

Personally I like these names. At least they are classier than McLovin or Mojo or something like that (no offense to Dylan and Marcus).
