But what I’m really talking about is the proliferation of a particular mindset. We keep allowing these studios to reinforce the mindset that gay men will subjugate themselves to a hawt “straight” guy without regard to their own sexual satisfaction or needs (if the so-called straightness wasn’t a factor, why then would the studios consistently play up this angle?). It is a common, depressing theme in a lot of gay porn (particularly in the porn featured on this blog) and it has very little to do with a model’s actual “hawtness” and almost everything to do with his perceived “straightness” (there are plenty of gorgeous gay models who are either told to tone down their “gayness” or saddled with a ridiculously and patently false “straight/bi” biography or backstory to establish their hetero credentials or bonafides).

Hell, there is a whole fucking cottage industry dedicated to the “straight-but-nominally-unattainable” (wink, wink) where the perceived straightness (definitely NOT the hawtness) of the models is the entire hook (New York Straight Men, Straight Fraternity, anyone??).

And we continue to endorse this insidious message every time we cheer on the likes of Cody Cummings, Paddy O’Brien, James Hunstman, et al.

You will not see a good-looking guy doing straight porn, with an average dick and getting paid anything close to what the women are pulling down.
