It took long enough to get a decent DVD release through anchor bay. The commentary by Sole and Lustig is very good. I also loved Let’s Scare Jessica to Death. It’s a little “quiet” and slow moving for some, but I love it. I’m open to anything from the 70s through the mid 80s.

Oh yes. Some of my favorite underrated horrors are rated highly there: Alice, Jessica, The Brood, Deranged, Tourist Trap, Curtains, silent Night Deadly Night, just Before Dawn, Madman, etc.

Like you I have a fond appreciation for the atmosphere of a horror film.

Yes. Curtains has its flaws but it’s one of many Canadian horrors that were done quite well in the early 80s. Sandra Warren aka Sandee Currie (who played the poor girl who almost survived the movie but was pulled into the airshaft, and also played Jamie Lee’s best friend mitchie in Terror Train) died in a car accident some time ago.

Lesleah Donaldson (skating victim) played in some entertaining Canadian horrors: Curtains, Funeral Home, Happy Birthday to Me, Deadly Eyes/Rats.

Hart was very hot in TT. Lost my desire for him years later when I saw him in die hard. Got his looks from his dad Lloyd. One of my guilty pleasure Canadian slashers is Killer Party from 1986 (technically made earlier but not released til 86) which has two eye candies I wouldn’t have minded “stabbing” ;) back then: Woody Brown and Martin Hewitt. Anyway, in that movie–great fun btw–is Howard Busgang–famous producer–but played a “nerd” in a bee costume who gets harpooned through the mouth, and he’s the poor sap that gets stabbed then run over by the train in terror train.

Pointless info but I love recognizing actors from other movies.
