This is it. I’m done. Sean KKKody is cancelled for good. I haven’t paid any attention to them lately anyway (so bored with their new “aesthetic”), but this was the last straw.
As @disqus_6nRkGdeR7U:disqus pointed out, they also released this on Juneteenth. Talk about a fucking slap in the face to the African American community (that they already don’t give a fuck about).
All this on top of the shitty production values, the casting that makes a complete mockery of the studio’s legacy before the takeover by the completely inept MindGeek, zero chemistry between models, and a litany of other issues discussed here ad nauseum… I am done. We should all be done. Let Sean Cody die a painful death. At least I’ve downloaded all the great scenes I want to remember from the glory years.

Does SC accept the blame for making a huge mistake they think they can forget by just deleting a model ? Who was asleep at the wheel here ? They made these stupid decisions and a lot of people are offended by what they allow in the porn they make and how they treat the consumer like they’re idiots, by photoshopping the pics and blurring out tattoo in the preview they are pulling a bait n switch.. Knowingly, putting out a product that the knew people would have a strong opinion about. Now, if you don’t care about being treated as such or don’t care about who racist or who isn’t, fine. But, your post and tone come off as defensive when no one contacted you and tried to recruit in being against this bullshit SC is peddling.

I totally hear you. I don’t think we are obligated to research every dollar that we spend, but being basically well informed and responsible would be ideal. Related to what you’re saying, I think people hold entertainers to a higher standard because it’s more fun to read a porn news blog than to read political news and stay engaged. They’ll vote for their favorite adult film nominee but not vote in a midterm election. But that’s not true for everyone, and some people here probably do try to bring a certain vigilance to all of their transactions as best they can.

MisterB says: No it shouldn’t. What I get is that he would not have marched with the Nazis in Charlottesville because he is not a Nazi and does not agree with their politics. But if it is learned that YOUR very favorite porn performer is a Nazi (which he could be) that you currently jerk off to regularly, Bob would still watch him getting fucked, especially if he were hot and good at sex. Texans are notoriously prideful and boastful and many still play with the notion of seceding from the Union and being in complete control of their own affairs with no interference. For some Texans the confederate flag is a symbol of Political DEFIANCE. I have no idea what it means to Zane. I just know that SC did not and is not handling this well, at all. The TACKY blurring of the tattoo shows they believe they have something to HIDE. I want to give Zane the benefit of a doubt but SC’s shifty behavior is not helping. What were/are they thinking. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It’s become the talk of the porn world. SC needs to issue an explanation. Will they do the right thing? Listen, my father served in the Air Force in Alabama in the early 1960s, I know from him exactly what (white) Southern Pride meant in very specific terms. It meant that my father had to sit on the floor of the cab when riding with white airmen because even though the military was desegregated then, the commanding officers “followed the customs of their hosts.” No one showed any “malice” against my father; they just expected him to accept degrading treatment.
That’s the Old South, andrew. Its isn’t complicated, actually. In fact, there’s no getting around it. Unless you think that calling a white person racist is worse than being the target of white racism… which apparently you do.
MisterB says: To most people, including myself, the confederate flag is a reminder of the Civil War that was fought to end slavery. To some it is the ugly reminder of slavery itself. But there are those who relegate the slavery issue to being a side issue and certainly not a present day issue. It is VERY unlikely that Zane, for example, wants to bring back slavery. They see the Civil War as the South fighting for their State Rights. Including the right to secede from the the Union, should they want to, for ANY reason. The reason just happened to be slavery, is how they see it. I think it is arrogantly wrong that they see it that way, but some do. The fact that the flag is inside the shape of the State of Texas causes me to think that Zane perhaps sees it that way. DEFIANCE against the Federal Govt. infringing upon Texas.
