there are actually quite a few still active stars who started before 2010 and thus technically worked in three decades. and you do not not have to look any further than the big popular studios to find them now, such as Lucas, Next Door, MEN, and even surprisingly Belami which has several. Maybe @disqus_O0ZucPVypp:disqus came across as making it sound unprecedented, but he did say “very few” and not “none.” Besides, or a few reasons, I think you’re being too dismissive of this. (1) Yes, it’s true that straddling three decades can happen in only one decade and two days. This is nonetheless a common way of framing longevity in industries that have high turnover. Billboard magazine analyzes this all the time. Michael Jackson had top 10 hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and posthumously in the 10s. Mariah’s No. 1 streak is even more impressive (see below). (2) How common is it really? I’m not throwing down a gauntlet — I actually want to know. There’s a difference between “still active” and people who have actually already released a scene after Jan. 1. Maybe by the end of the year there will be several, but at Bel Ami, I can’t find any. (I’ll admit that I don’t know a lot of their models because I’m more into American studios.) (3) Even if we were able to name ten models who have done it this year, it’s still worth pointing out that this IS a unique moment in history.
