That of PORFI as diminutive of POR FAVOR (Please) only used in Spain, in Europe, where I am from, so I find it strange that its name comes from POR FAVOR.

I know nothing of Porfi. It was not mentioned that he is Mexican. Is that common knowledge? ALL I know is that I looked up Porfi out of curiosity and found it was short for Por Favor and I LOVE it. It is a cute sounding name anyway, and that it is short for Por Favor made it even cuter to me.
