Regarding studios that make gay porn for a gay audience, there is (quiet) support otherwise they wouldn’t be in business, but the quality of sex presented is heavily critized by gay men on blogs. It’s overproduced; too fake; they’re fucking by the numbers, etc. etc. Falcon/Raging Stallion gets hit with this a lot. Though they are the companies constantly pushing gay porn actors to the forefront, as they should. And narratives in movies, if there are any, don’t treat gay sex as unusual.

Then you have companies like MindGeek pushing their g4p actors with shitty performances and embarassing concepts. But they don’t get the same “it’s overproduced/fake” criticism.
