My name is Ace Banner and I'm pretty new to these parts. I only recently signed up to become a Scoutmaster, following an entire self-reappraisal of my life. I suddenly realized that I’d spent way too long in the ruthless world of finance, working my freakin’ ass off and making myself utterly miserable. No more. Sure, I had the house, the fancy cars and nice suits, but it all felt meaningless. I did a bunch of soul-searching and realized that the last time I’d felt free and truly happy was in my youth, when I was a Scout. The world seemed so big back then, and so packed with exciting possibilities. The more I thought about those heady, carefree days, the more I longed to reconnect with them. So, I left the job, moved out to the country and started volunteering for my local Scout troop. I’m the happiest I’ve been in years.
